2021 District Playoff Information

2020-2021 CREDENTIALING

Credentialing for all AAA, A, AA, B teams and girls/women's teams will be on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Farmington Hills Ice Arena.  Times will be listed on Home Page in December.

 

YOUR TEAM MUST BE CREDENTIALED BY

 

DISTRICT 4 PRIOR TO PLAYING IN STATES. 

 

NO EXCEPTIONS.


MAHA States

Winners of the D4 Tournament advance to States.  There is also a Runners-Up Playoffs that also leads to an entry into States in several division. 

The Runners-Up playoffs will be the weekend of February 19-21, 2021.  The host for the Runner-Up Playoffs is District 5.

MAHA State Playoff Information

District 4 Dates

Dates will be finalized in November.

 

All first round games must be completed by Sunday, January 31, 2021.

The second round of districts will be February 4 - February 7, 2021.  Host associations may start on Thursday, February 4 and end on Monday, February 7, 2021.  Ice requirements will be sent to associations by November 25, 2020.

Hockey Day, will be hosted by USA Hockey Club if Michigan on February 13-14 2021 at the Detroit Skate Club.


2020/21 Season District Seeding

District 4 will be seeding the teams for districts for all travel age groups this season.  We will be using the rankings from Myhockey rankings on Thursday December 28th 2020 to place the teams in the various divisions for round 1.  

For the teams that advance to the second round, teams will be slotted based on a predefined schedule.

Example, 16 teams entered, four divisions of four teams, highest ranked D4 team would be the number 1 seed and so on.

House team district

District 4 will follow the same procedure as previous seasons when scheduling house teams for 2021 district playoffs.  Each team will be placed using a blind draw of divisions for the first round.  The second round will be predetermined by the division placement in round 1.
