MAHA District 4

John Stansik, owner of the Arctic Pond Arena, sponsor of the Victory Honda Hockey Club, MAHA board member, original member of and current Vice President of Hockey Has Heart, and the truest friend and supporter of youth hockey families that you'll ever meet passed away on Sunday, March 13th, 2016.  John has had a positive impact on hundreds if not thousands of hockey families and players, coaches, employees, and business partners over the years and will always be remembered as a soft spoken, generous and caring man.  The hockey community has lost a very, very great member.  All of our prayers and best thoughts go out to Pam, Courtney, Chris and Kyle and the rest of the Stansik family.

Dear District 4 Community:

It is with great sadness, and a heavy heart, that I inform you that John Stansik passed away on March 13, 2016. John had a short, but very tough, battle with cancer.  He fought as hard as he could to the very end; surrounded with support from his family, friends, and the entire hockey community.

Many of you have come to know John through his work with the District 4 Council, Hockey Has Heart, Victory Honda, Arctic Pond, Arctic Edge, and many other hockey entities that John donated his time to.  Those of you that had the pleasure to make his acquaintance know John as selfless man that would do anything for anyone, and everyone, especially for his hockey family and friends.  As a District 4 Councilman, SafeSport Director, and STAR Director, John donated countless hours to the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association solely for his love and passion for the game of hockey.  You could not finder a kinder or gentler individual on our Board.  Even in the toughest of times, his sense of humor could leave you laughing for days.  It is those unique qualities that our Board will miss the most.
